This article is for districts that utilize one of our CSV rostering solutions; that is, your district creates classes. adds new students directly from your Student Information System (SIS), and uploads to ST Math through files submitted via our 6 file or 2 file rostering process. How can I tell if my school is rostered?
District Database Administrators (DBAs) determine the students' sign in type. Student sign ins can be either Text or Text to Visual. Both sign in types require a text username and password. It is the district’s responsibility to notify teachers and students of assigned students' usernames and passwords.
Text Sign In
Text Sign In is a text only sign in that students will use every time they sign in to ST Math.
Students always click the Text Sign In icon and type both their username and text password.
Text to Visual Sign In
Text to Visual Sign In is a text sign in that, when entered, will prompt the student to learn a picture password. The picture password is a series of pictures unique to the student and will not change. The picture password is then used for all future sign ins to ST Math.
Students initially click the Text Sign In icon and type both their username and password.
Students will then be prompted to learn a picture password through a series of ST Math games. The ST Math picture password games take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete and should be completed in one session. Students who do not complete the initial training may not know their picture password to sign in the next time and would have to complete picture password training again from the beginning if they are not able to access with their pictures.
After the student is trained on their password, the student should click on the Picture Password icon and enter their unique picture password for all subsequent sign ins.
Please note: If using Text to Visual, each time a student enters their text sign in, they will be prompted to complete picture password training through the ST Math picture password games. The ST Math picture password games must be completed before the student can move on to their Journey and Assignments. There is not a way to bypass training once it is prompted.
Using the text sign in is a great way to retrain a student on their picture password, if needed, but students should be reminded that each time they enter their text sign in they will be required to complete all of password training. This can be frustrating if the student already knows their picture password and did not wish to be retrained.
