Initial Upload of Students
- Log into your ST Math district super administrator account.
- Go to Settings > Student Roster to upload new files. Make sure you are on the district and not the school settings page in order to upload the file.
- Click "Get Started."
- Click on the template to download the csv file with your student data or use the template sent to you by ST Math. (You cannot upload student information from a google doc.)
- Fill the file with all required information, taking care not to move/remove/change any headers or columns and save it as a csv file to your computer. IDs and Usernames must be unique and never reused and passwords should be unique and must be at least 6 characters long.
- Before uploading, double check for duplicate ids, usernames, missing data in the file, passwords less than 6 characters long.
- Drag and drop or click the "Browse" button to find and upload your file.
- When you've uploaded the file, click "Scan". Scanning can take a few minutes.
- Look at the feedback after scanning the file. The summary will show what the results of the file upload would be.
- If there are errors, click "Download Warnings Report" to see errors. If there are numerous errors, they may not all be listed. Some errors may keep the file from being processed. You can use"Download Change Log" to see exactly which students will be affected.
- If the errors don't reflect changes you wish to import, click "Cancel" and try again.
- Correct any errors and try again.
- If no errors are listed, click "Import Changes" to complete the import.
- Click Home to return to the main page.
Students should be available to import immediately but will not show under the district Students tab for up to 24 hours.
Create Teacher Accounts
Anyone with district or school super admin access can add new staff accounts to ST Math. You will create teachers under a school in the district. District admin cannot create classes, so they may also need a school admin or teacher account. Make sure you are on the school and not the district settings page to add teachers. If you don't see the teacher's heading on the "Settings" tab, you're probably on the district settings page. For directions on how to add teacher accounts, see How do I add new staff accounts?.
Create Classes and Link Students
Teachers should create their class and import students before students start using ST Math. For directions, see How do I create a class and add students in CSR?
Have Students Sign Into ST Math and Begin Working
The district administrator responsible for rostering will need to provide teachers with the usernames and passwords from the uploaded student file in order for teachers to share student login credentials with students. After classes have been created and students imported into those classes, students will sign into ST Math at play.stmath.com by clicking the Student Sign-In button, selecting "Text Sign In", entering their district-assigned username and password, and they can begin playing!
