So you've purchased the ST Math Assessment Support Tool Integration to go with your implementation of ST Math. This added feature is for students in grades 2-8, and can be used with NWEA® MAP RIT scores as well as other supported assessment scores to auto-assign intervention content to students based on their scores.
The Assessment Support Tool is available for rostered schools only. For more information about this integration, watch the video from the ST Math website to see how it works.
Using Scores to Determine Auto-Assignments
While cut scores vary based on the test and state, only students testing more than one grade level behind will receive Auto-Assignments in ST Math through the Assessment Support Tool integration. Students get assignments based on their first assessment sent to ST Math each year. Districts/schools can determine whether this is the Beginning of Year or the Middle of Year test.
Differentiating Assessment Authority by Grade Level
ST Math can set AST by grade level for a school. If the assessment authority is set to AST for grades 2-5 but ST Math for grades 6-8, for example, students in grades 2-5 who meet the criteria could receive AST Auto-Assignments, while those in grades 6-8 could take the ST Math pre-test and receive ST Math Auto-Assignments.
Note: If middle school students take the ST Math pre-test and receive ST Math Auto-Assignments while waiting to be set up for AST, once the AST setup is complete, students would no longer have ST Math Auto-Assignments but would have AST Auto-Assignments based on the external vendor's test scores once they were received and processed. For a grade using AST, no student would have the ST Math Auto-Assignments once the assessment authority for that grade is changed to AST.
Setup Process
ST Math will reach out to the individual identified as the Assessment Support Tool Integration contact once the purchase has been made to set up the integration and sync shared data between the assessment and your ST Math accounts. Once the process is complete, students can sign into their account and click the Auto-Assignments icon on the right to access their assigned content.
