IntroductionST Math's visual, game-based approach gives students a meaningful context for applying mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and communication to meet the TEKS Content and Process Standards while supporting Emergent Bilingual learners in meeting the ELPS. |

TEKS Content Standards
Each ST Math Objective is designed to address one or, more often, multiple standards within a topic domain. This allows students to develop a schema of math as interrelated and connected concepts which has been shown to increase understanding and raise test scores. While ST Math is a supplemental program and does not fully cover all of the grade-level standards, it does align to the key focus areas of each grade.
Navigate to the Standards View: Curriculum > All Learning Objectives > Organize by > Standards.
Standards Report:
To support monitoring and data-informed decision-making for your class, the Standards tab provides detailed information about the ST Math content students have completed for each TEKS domain and standard.
Navigate to the Standards Report: ST Math > Home > Select a Class > Standards > Standards Report.
TEKS Process Standards
As students interact with ST Math puzzles individually and collaboratively, they naturally engage in the kinds of thinking the TEKS Process Standards call for, including analyzing problems, formulating strategies, justifying solutions, and making mathematical connections. ST Math Puzzle Talks extend this further through teacher-led discussions that deepen conceptual understanding and encourage students to explain and defend their thinking.
The resources below outline how ST Math games and Puzzle Talks connect to each of the TEKS Process Standards.
English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS)
ST Math uses visual approaches to make mathematical learning accessible to all students across languages or language proficiency levels. Puzzle Talks and a wide range of facilitation tools support emergent bilingual students in speaking, listening, reading, and writing with increasingly sophisticated academic language alongside their mathematical learning.
