JiJi is visiting Wave Rock, Hyden, Australia
You might think that Wave Rock would be found near the ocean but it's not. About 200 miles away from the coast is a wall of granite as tall as a 5 story building that looks like an ocean wave. Scientists know that the rock is 2.7 billion years old. They think that it formed when small pieces of the granite were moved (erosion) or broken apart (weathering). The colors on the rock are still being made by dissolved minerals in rainwater.
The March Postcard message will be posted in April.
