Early finishers are students who complete their ST Math Journey before the end of the school year. As students complete their journey, teachers may wonder, what is next? Students will automatically be placed into the Bonus Journey. It provides even more great ST Math games. Playing these games adds to the student’s puzzle count and will appear automatically when the student completes their journey. These objectives can also be assigned to individual students or an entire class.
Instead of moving students to the next grade level once they have completed the Bonus Journey, there are a number of things teachers can do to make sure their students have a deep understanding of their current grade-level content. Additionally, this is a great time to provide additional puzzles and activities that support students in further developing their essential skills of reasoning, growth mindset, perseverance, and communication.
If a student finishes their ST Math Journey before the end of the school year, we recommend rather than moving them to the next grade level, teachers make use of (1) optional fluency objectives, (2) strategic replay of ST Math Objectives, (3) ST Math Special Projects, (4) ST Math Activity Pages.
