Accessing the Report
The Student Usage report provides a detailed view of time spent on the program, and a high-level summary of progress and accomplishments through the total number of puzzles collected and objectives completed.
Teachers can navigate to the student usage report by:
- Selecting the class their student is in
- Select the student’s name.
Reading the Report
Currently Playing
This section shows the objective, the game, and the level the student is currently playing, or played on their most recent login. Clicking on the objective redirects to test drive, and clicking on the game goes directly to gameplay.
Productivity
The productivity section shows weekly puzzles and minutes for this individual student: this week, last week, and average as well as percent progress.
Looking at puzzles and minutes together provides valuable insights for educators on speed and productivity for each student, which might vary within a class.
Comparing the most recent week’s numbers against an average week can show if a student’s performance is deviating from their norm, and signal a need to check-in.
Productivity Graph
The graph below shows weekly productivity trends, which makes it even easier to notice patterns and problematic dips:
This graph shows weekly student data by minutes, puzzles, or puzzles per minute, so teachers can see trends for general usage as well as productivity over time. Teachers have the ability to toggle between a recent view, which shows the last ten weeks, or all year, by clicking either button on the bottom right corner.
Teachers can switch the display between minutes, puzzles, and puzzles per minute through the drop-down menu on the bottom left.
Totals for the Year
In this section, teachers can see the total cumulative puzzle count for each student for the duration of the current school year. They can also see the number of total objectives completed.
This overview provides a glance into how quickly students are advancing through the ST Math curriculum. These metrics can also be used for incentives or celebrations.
The chart displays how the total number of puzzles or objectives has increased over time. Teachers can toggle either the puzzle or objective view, using the drop-down in the lower-left corner.
Sign-Ins
The sign-ins section displays the student’s daily usage data. The top of the chart labels the days of the week, starting with Monday.
The left column of the chart provides the start and end dates for each week, and teachers can adjust the weekly view by using the up and down arrows.
Teachers can navigate through each day’s data by clicking on any of the days highlighted in green. Clicking “First Sign-In” or “Last Sign-In” at the bottom of the chart automatically selects those days.
In the example below, the teacher has selected Wednesday, October 23rd, and is looking at usage data for that day.
Selecting a day will show the following data:
- The total number of minutes spent and puzzles collected
- A breakdown of puzzles collected by ST Math objective, game, and level
- The exact time of all sign-ins on that date, under 'Sessions'
