ST Math games are broken into objectives which are represented as big island-like cones. Objectives are groups of games designed to teach a student a specific concept.
In front of each objective is a game bridge. Each pillar is a game. A game is a collection of levels that use the same basic schema.
Each horizontal game bridge block is a level and each level is a collection of puzzles. Students usually have two JiJi's for each level. When a student completes a level, they earn that section of the bridge and take one step towards completing the objective.
Objectives address a specific content area, and are represented in ST Math as a “cone” for students, but often called a “mountain” or “volcano”. Its content structure includes several games.
Games are a collection of levels that all have a similar mechanism for teaching a mathematical concept, and are represented in ST Math by an animated, circular icon with a progress ring that fills as a student completes levels in the game.
Levels typically consist of 5-8 puzzles. They are represented on the bridge as blocks with a progress bar that shows student’s progress through the level. Levels increase in difficulty and must be played in order.
Puzzles are individual math problems in ST Math. When solved correctly, JiJi’s path across the screen is unblocked and JiJi can cross to get to the next puzzle. Students collect puzzles after they successfully complete the level. Failed attempts don't earn any puzzles and do not increase Puzzle Goal Progress.
