For the last ten years we've been following JiJi's adventures around the world for visits to World Heritage sites, to see endangered animals and insects, and explore interesting geology.
This year's theme is homes around the world. JiJi's going to be visiting different kinds of homes and learning about why they're good places to live. We'll find out about the science, engineering, architecture, and math used to make good shelters in each place JiJi visits.
New this year - you'll get a postcard for every 10% progress.
A banner and link on the class page in the Educator Console (sign in at play.stmath.com) goes right to the postcard and message!
For those who are using other goals (puzzles? minutes? other great goals?), visit this Postcards page for postcards that don't show a percentage.
If you don't want to see those banners, go here to learn how to disable them.
Here's the itinerary:
- 10% Canada
- 20% New Mexico, United States
- 30% Valparaiso, Chile
- 40% South Africa
- 50% United Kingdom
- 60% Chukotka, Russia; Brazil, or Namibia**
- 70% Hong Kong SAR, China
- 80% Philippines
- 90% Australia
- 100% Esperanza Base, Antarctica
Update March 2022
We understand that celebrating Russia may be uncomfortable at this time. When JiJi's travels were mapped out, we did not expect the current conflict in Ukraine. If you'd like to choose a different destination, here are alternatives (Brazil or Namibia) from previous years.
Also new this year! Coloring sheets!!
